Celebrating 30 Years of Service to Ontario’s Agri-Food Sector

On September 16th, the Agricultural Adaptation Council (AAC) marked a significant milestone with a gala evening hosted at the Queen Victoria Place Restaurant in Niagara Falls, where the AAC celebrated 30 years of service to Ontario’s agri-food sector.

AAC staff, board members, member organizations, industry stakeholders, and government representatives gathered for an evening of reflection, connection, and celebration, honouring the individuals and organizations who have shaped the AAC’s three-decade journey. Guests enjoyed the opportunity to reconnect, share memories, and acknowledge the collective achievements that have strengthened Ontario’s agri-food community over the years.

A highlight of the evening was the announcement of the Kelly Duffy Leadership Award, created to inspire and support the next generation of leaders who exemplify Kelly’s passion, commitment, and values within Ontario’s agri-food sector and beyond. AAC member organizations will be able to nominate an aspiring youth leader for the annual award, which includes a $5,000 contribution toward education, professional development, or leadership training to help advance their careers in the agri-food industry.

The night included the attendance of Senator Rob Black and Ontario’s Minister of Rural Affairs, Lisa Thompson, both of whom shared remarks recognizing AAC’s leadership and dedication to advancing Ontario’s agri-food and rural communities throughout its 30-year history. Their reflections underscored the organization’s long-standing role as a trusted partner in fostering innovation and collaboration within the sector.

The AAC extends its sincere gratitude to the evening’s sponsors—Chicken Farmers of Ontario, Grain Farmers of Ontario, Beef Farmers of Ontario, Dairy Farmers of Ontario, Ontario Harness Horse Association, and MacGregor Marketing and Communications—for their generous support in making this milestone celebration possible.

As the organization reflects on three decades of service, the Agricultural Adaptation Council remains committed to supporting Ontario’s agri-food industry through innovation, leadership, and partnership, ensuring a resilient and thriving future for the province’s agriculture and food sectors.
